The Daiwa Basia AGS BCAGS2314-AU is a high-end 12 ft carp rod with a 3.25 lb test curve, aimed particularly at long-distance casting while retaining a relatively light, responsive feel.
The big selling point is the AGS (Air Guide System) carbon guides. They're considerably lighter than conventional metal guides, which reduces weight toward the tip. The idea is that this gives the blank faster recovery after the cast, helping with both casting efficiency and bite detection. Daiwa describes the combination as taking the feel and performance of the Basia to another level.
The blank also uses X45 carbon construction, intended to control twisting under load. Combined with the relatively slim blank and MT tip, it makes this much more of a distance-oriented but refined carp rod than a heavy-duty spod/marker-style tool.
